DEPTH OVER COUNT

Guided kits

A few crafts and hobbies where the numbers matter get more than a list of tools: an ordered plan, worked examples that load in one click, a checklist for the bench or the cutting table, and a plain note on what the arithmetic does not cover.

Presets on the tool pages

Tools in these crafts have a “Presets” menu above their inputs: worked examples such as a throw-size quilt, a red LED on 3.3 V, a pizza dough, a lettuce succession or a ribbed cuff, which fill the form and calculate. You can open one from a link ending #preset= and the preset’s id, and change any number afterwards. Each preset says what it is for, adds a note where it needs one and cites its sources.

Presets and kits are plain files in the Toolmoz repository, so anyone can propose one. Every preset is checked against its tool and against an independent calculation before it is accepted. These kits have not yet been reviewed by a specialist in each craft, and each page says so.
