Western Easter is the Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon on or after 21 March, found with the Meeus–Jones–Butcher algorithm for the Gregorian calendar (valid from 1583). Orthodox Easter uses the Julian-calendar computus and then converts the Julian date to Gregorian through the Julian day number. Related days count from Easter Sunday: Ash Wednesday −46, Palm Sunday −7, Good Friday −2, Ascension +39 and Pentecost +49 (Clean Monday −48 for Orthodox). Dates are the Gregorian dates, whichever tradition.
