Evenly spaced objects
Lay out identical objects with equal edge gaps or fixed end clearances.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Subtracts object widths from the available span. Equal-gap mode divides remaining space into count+1 gaps. Fixed-end mode reserves your two end clearances and divides the rest between objects. One object is centred and must match the requested clearances in fixed-end mode. Reports each left edge and centre. This is layout geometry, without structural or code compliance checks.

Worked example
A fixed demonstration, separate from the values you enter above.
- Available span (cm)
- 200
- Number of objects
- 4
- Width of each object (cm)
- 20
- Gap layout
- Equal gaps, including both ends
Example result
| Object | Left edge (cm) | Centre (cm) | Right edge (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 24 | 34 | 44 |
| 2 | 68 | 78 | 88 |
| 3 | 112 | 122 | 132 |
| 4 | 156 | 166 | 176 |
End clearance: 24 cm each. Positions are measured from the left edge of the span.
