Exam score with negative marking
Calculate an exam’s raw and percentage score from its marking scheme.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Raw score = correct × award − incorrect × penalty. Maximum possible = all questions × correct-answer award, including unanswered questions. Percentage can be negative when penalties exceed earned marks. Requires at least one question. Uses only the marking scheme you enter.
