Fence post calculator
Count posts and estimate actual equal spacing for a straight fence.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Bays = ceiling(length ÷ maximum spacing). A single straight open run needs one more post than bays. Actual equal spacing = length ÷ bays. Gates, corners, joins and post embedment are excluded; this does not specify structural requirements.
