Small matrix calculator
Add, multiply, transpose, invert or find a determinant for matrices up to 6 × 6.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Accepts rectangular matrices up to 6 × 6 with finite entries of magnitude at most 10¹², and non-zero entries of at least 10⁻¹². Addition/subtraction require matching shapes; multiplication requires A columns=B rows. Determinants use elimination with partial pivoting; inverses use pivoted Gauss–Jordan elimination. Exact zero pivots are singular in this numeric model. Inverse output includes an infinity-norm condition estimate and warns above 10¹²; arithmetic and displayed values are floating-point approximations.
