Median absolute deviation
Summarise spread using deviations from the sample median.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Raw MAD = median(|x−median(x)|). Also reports MAD multiplied by 1.4826022185, a consistency factor under a normal model, alongside the median. The adjusted value is not a universal standard-deviation estimate and a zero MAD can occur even when some observations differ.
