Remove EXIF and metadata from photos and PDFs
Strip location, camera, author and other hidden data from JPEG, PNG, WebP and PDF files without changing image quality.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Images are not re-encoded: the file is rewritten without its metadata segments and the picture data is copied byte for byte, so quality and pixels are unchanged. JPEG loses Exif, XMP, IPTC and Photoshop data, comments, thumbnails, multi-picture index and anything stored after the end of the image; PNG loses text chunks, Exif, the modification time, content credentials and other optional chunks; WebP loses its Exif and XMP chunks. You can keep the rotation flag and the colour profile so the picture does not turn sideways or change colour. For PDF the document information and XMP are deleted (not blanked), including metadata on pages and images, and every object nothing refers to any more is dropped, so the old values are not left behind in the file; attached files and scripts can be removed too. After cleaning, the tool reads the new file back and lists anything it still contains. Up to 30 MB per file. Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Files are read and changed in this browser only and are never uploaded.
