Paper grid cutting layout
Compare portrait and rotated grid cuts with margins and gutters.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Usable dimensions subtract both edge margins. Grid count along an axis=floor((usable+gutter)/(piece+gutter)), so no gutter is required after the last piece. Compares two uniform orientations. Reports pieces and used-piece area; this does not optimise mixed rotations or include bleed, crop marks, grain direction or cutting-machine limits.
