Each line is “field name = value”. Tick boxes take yes or no, choice fields take one of the listed options, and \n in a value is a line break. Western European letters only.

Fills standard PDF form fields and can flatten them. Forms built with XFA, signature fields and scripts are not supported, and changing a signed PDF breaks its signature.

    A clear answer. Here’s how.

Reads the standard (AcroForm) fields of the PDF with pdf-lib and lists them with their type, choices and current value. You edit one “field name = value” line per field: text fields take text, tick boxes take yes or no, radio groups and drop-down lists take one of their listed options. The field appearances are redrawn so the values show in every reader, and flattening turns the fields into fixed page content. Only Western European (WinAnsi) characters can be placed in fields. Forms built with XFA, signature fields and fields set by scripts are not supported, and changing a PDF that has been digitally signed breaks that signature. Up to 30 MB per file. Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Files are read and changed in this browser only and are never uploaded.
