Polynomial long division
Divide two polynomial coefficient lists and inspect quotient and remainder.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Polynomial long division cancels descending leading terms. The divisor must not be the zero polynomial. Returns quotient and a remainder of lower degree than the divisor; if the dividend has lower degree the quotient is zero. At most degree 20 per input. Tiny floating-point remainders are retained rather than claimed to be exact algebraic factors.
