Even-pace race split planner
Break a target distance and finish time into equal-pace splits.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Divides the course into complete split distances plus a shorter final split if needed. Allocates time in proportion to distance so cumulative finish time equals the supplied target. Limits output to 1,000 splits. Assumes even pace; terrain, weather, aid stops, fatigue and individual performance are not modelled.

Worked example
A fixed demonstration, separate from the values you enter above.
- Race distance (km)
- 10
- Target finish time (minutes)
- 50
- Split distance (km)
- 1
Example result
| Split | Distance (km) | Split seconds | Cumulative seconds |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 300 | 300 |
| 2 | 1 | 300 | 600 |
| 3 | 1 | 300 | 900 |
| 4 | 1 | 300 | 1,200 |
| 5 | 1 | 300 | 1,500 |
Even target pace 5 min/km; final partial split is proportional.
