Wheel width & offset comparison
Compare nominal inner and outer rim-edge positions.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Using nominal bead-seat width in mm, inner position=width/2+offset and outer position=width/2−offset. Reports new-minus-old changes: positive inner movement reduces nominal suspension clearance; positive outer movement extends outwards. Rim lips, tyre shape, brakes, suspension travel, spacers, handling and actual fitment are excluded.

Worked example
A fixed demonstration, separate from the values you enter above.
- Original nominal width (inches)
- 6.5
- Original offset ET (mm)
- 45
- New nominal width (inches)
- 8
- New offset ET (mm)
- 35
Example result
- Inner movement toward suspension (mm)
- 9.05
- Outer movement away from vehicle (mm)
- 29.05
- Nominal width increase (mm)
- 38.1
Positive inner movement reduces nominal clearance; positive outer movement increases extension. No actual fitment check.
