XIRR calculator for dated cash flows
Find the annual return of irregularly dated payments, using the same convention as Excel.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Solves Σ amount ÷ (1 + r)^(days ÷ 365) = 0 for the annual effective rate r, with the earliest date as the base. A year is always 365 days, which matches Microsoft Excel’s XIRR, so leap days are not adjusted. The scan covers about −99.99% to 1,000,000% and reports every root it finds. Also shows totals and the money multiple. Dates must be real calendar dates, and all amounts share one currency.
