Crochet circle round counts
Build a round-by-round stitch-count reference for constant increases.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
For round r, total stitches = base × r. After the first ring, add base stitches per round; the number of ordinary base stitches between increases is r−2. This is a count reference for a constant-increase construction, not a guarantee that fabric lies flat. Stitch height, yarn, tension and technique must suit the project.

Example result
| Round | Stitches | Increases this round | Base stitches between increases |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 6 | 0 | Initial ring |
| 2 | 12 | 6 | 0 |
| 3 | 18 | 6 | 1 |
| 4 | 24 | 6 | 2 |
| 5 | 30 | 6 | 3 |
Arithmetic for rounds adding the same base count. Stitch height, tension and technique determine whether an actual fabric lies flat.
