File transfer time estimate
Estimate a transfer duration from file size, link rate and achieved efficiency.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Seconds=file bytes×8/(Mbps×1,000,000×efficiency). Distinguishes decimal MB/GB from binary MiB/GiB and bits from bytes. Uses your achieved-throughput assumption; server limits, protocol overhead, contention, setup and changing network conditions are not estimated automatically.
