Treats up to 10,000 intervals as half-open [start,end) within one 24-hour clock day. End may be 24:00; start must be before 24:00 and end after start. Sorts and merges overlapping or touching intervals and reports total distinct minutes. Overnight spans must be split at midnight. No date, zone, break or payroll policy is inferred.
