Web Mercator coordinate converter
Convert decimal coordinates to or from EPSG:3857 map metres.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Uses spherical Web Mercator x=Rλ and y=R ln(tan(π/4+φ/2)), with R=6,378,137 m, and the inverse equations. Restricts coordinates to the conventional square world map, about ±85.05112878° latitude. These projected metres are distorted map coordinates and do not directly measure ground distance.
