Capacitive & inductive reactance
Find ideal reactance magnitudes and signed imaginary impedance at a frequency.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
For positive frequency, inductive reactance is X_L=2πfL and capacitive magnitude is X_C=1/(2πfC). Under the e^(jωt) convention the corresponding imaginary impedances are +jX_L and −jX_C. Reports the individual elements without assuming a connection or a DC model.
