Reaction percentage yield
Compare actual product yield with a supplied theoretical yield.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Percentage yield = actual/theoretical × 100. Both yields must describe the same product and use the same unit and basis. Also reports the signed shortfall. A value over 100% is retained and flagged as an apparent excess; the tool does not correct measurement, purity or a theoretical-yield calculation. No balanced reaction or limiting reagent is inferred.
