Series RLC impedance
Calculate impedance, RMS current, phase and real power for an ideal series RLC circuit.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Uses Z=R+j(ωL−1/(ωC)), |Z|=√(R²+X²) and RMS current=Vrms/|Z|. Reports impedance angle, current phase relative to applied voltage, power factor R/|Z| and real power I²R. Assumes a sinusoidal steady state and positive series resistance; no component ratings or real losses beyond R are included.
