Weaving warp length budget
Budget warp per end and total yarn for repeated woven pieces.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Adds finished piece lengths and between-piece spacing, then divides by one minus supplied shrinkage. Adds loom waste once per warp end and multiplies by end count for total warp yarn. Shrinkage is a length fraction applied to the woven section; include take-up separately in your assumptions. Does not estimate weft or loom capacity.

- Number of pieces
- 3
- Finished-equivalent spacing between pieces (m)
- 0.1
- Lengthwise shrinkage (%)
- 10
- Loom waste per warp end (m)
- 0.6
- Warp ends

- Woven length before shrinkage (m)
- 5.22222222222
- Length per warp end (m)
- 5.82222222222
- Total warp length (m)
- 1,397.33333333
Assumes the supplied lengthwise shrinkage applies to cloth and between-piece spacing. Adds loom waste once per end; does not infer take-up or weaving tension.
