Water mixing temperature
Estimate an equilibrium temperature or hot/cold masses for a target temperature.
A clear answer. Here’s how.
Assumes liquid water with the same constant specific heat in both portions, no heat loss, no vessel heat capacity and no evaporation or phase change. Blend temperature = (m_cT_c + m_hT_h)/(m_c + m_h). For a target between two different temperatures, warm mass = total × (target − cool)/(warm − cool). Uses mass rather than assuming equal liquid volume at different temperatures.
