A clear answer. Here’s how.

Warp ends = ceiling(target width × target ends per inch) plus supplied edge ends. Occupied dents round ends divided by ends-per-dent up, and reed width divides dents by dents-per-inch. Effective sett assumes uniform denting; a partial final dent and extra edges can change local density. Does not infer a suitable sett from yarn type.

Ends = ceiling(width × target ends/inch) + extra ends. Dents use the supplied fixed ends-per-dent; partial final dents can alter edge sett.
